CIRE Addl Director stresses need for training in power sector

Hyderabad, Oct 13 (UNI) Central Institute for Rural Electrification (CIRE) Additional Director J K Chakravarthy today stressed the need for training in power sector to update knowledge and skills to meet the emerging trends.

Speaking after inaugurating two international training programmes, of an eight-week duration, on ''Power Transmission and Distribution Managementand Technologies'' and ''Planning and Management of Power sector in Developing Countries'' here, he said the role of officers, engaged in the management of power distribution system, was more challenging compared to those of in the past.

Around 26 delegates from various countries, including Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Myanmar, were participating in the programmes, sponsored by the Central Government.
