9 tehsils declared drought-hit in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Oct 13 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government today declared nine tehsils of Rajnandgaon and Kawardha districts as drought-affected and halted debt recovery from farmers there.
The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Raman Singh.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Minister of State for Food Satyanand Rathiya denied that the tehsils were declared drought-affected as they came within the constituency from where the Chief Minister might contest the year-end assembly polls.
