Zac Efron puts acting on hold to earn college degree

London, October 12 : Actor Zac Efron, who recently appeared for the premiere of "High School Musical 3", has decided to put his acting career on hold in a bid to get a college degree.

The Disney heartthrob, who had deferred his admission at the University of Southern California in 2006, has allegedly signed up for the 2009 session, reports U.S. magazine Star.

"Zac wants to earn a college degree," the Daily Express quoted a source. "Despite his success as an actor, it's one of his goals," the source added.

The 20-year-old budding artist insisted that studies came naturally to him and that he fitted well into the category of geeks.

He said: "I got good grades at school - in fact, you'd have called me a nerd."
