Thieves decamp with gold jewellery, cash from house of VAO
Karur, Oct 12 (UNI) Burglars gained entry into a house of an Village Administrative Officer (VAO) and made away with 25 sovereigns of gold ornaments, Rs 20,000 cash and other valuables at Gandhigram.
According to police, the thieves entered the house of (VAO) Azhagiriswamy, who is also state general secretary of Tamil Nadu Village Administriative Officers' Association at the Tamil Nadu Housing Board quarters last night.
He along with his family was away in Chennai, when the burglars committed the crime, police said.
