Painting competition organised by POM
Puducherry, Oct 12: The "Puducherry Oviyar Mandram" in association with Southern Railway organised a painting competition for school children in a moving train.
As many as 750 students pariticipated in the event.
The competition was to mark the occasion of 100th year of the visit of revolutionary poet Subramaniam Bharathi to Puducherry.
A theme relevent to the topic was given to the children by Mandaram to paint. The painting competition started as the train left Puducherry station and stoped as the it reached Villupuram.
All the paintings were collected at the Villupuram station and the children were brought back in the same train.
As many as 35 prizes would be given to the children next month.
