MSE workers to go on one-day strike on Oct 22
Thane, Oct 12 (UNI) Workers of the Maharashtra State Electricity (MSE) companies will observe a one-day strike on October 22 to press for their various demands.
MSE Workers' Federation president Mohan Sharma announced the decision at a press conference here today, after the conclusion of the two-day State Executive Committee meeting, in which representatives from all over the state were present.
Issues related to revision of wages of workers, bonus, interim relief and pension were discussed at the meet.
Mr Sharma said the state government had totally ignored the demands of the workers and the issue of revision of pay scale was pending, after the last agreement expired on March 31, 2008.
In addition to the strike, the workers have also decided to hold a day long dharna in front of the power headquarters on November 10, in which representatives and office bearers from the 280 zones in the state would be present.
Besides this, a three-day meeting of power workers has been planned at Pune between December 27 and 29, in which all India president A B Bardhan and Gurudas Das Gupta would be present.
