Five killed, nine injured in road accident
Prakasham, Oct 12 (UNI) Five people, including three women, were killed and nine others injured when a mini van in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry at Vallur in Tangutur mandal of the district in Andhra Pradesh today.
Police said 14 members of a family were proceeding to Tirupati in a mini van from Karimnagar when the mishap occured.
The van plunged into a gorge after the lorry hit the van from behind while overtaking it, police said, adding four persons died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The injured were admitted to a local hospital here, police added.
