Email threat to President Pratibha Patil

Pune, Oct 12 (UNI) An email threat has been received by the Maharashtra state authorities here threatening to target President Pratibha Patil, police sources said today.

The President, who is on a four-day visit to the state, will be inaugurating the Commonwealth Youth Games at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City at Balewadi here this evening.

Police sources said the mail sent by unidentified persons, stated that the attackers might come in 'any disguise'.

Security has been tightened following the threat, the sources added.

These Commonwealth Games are the first to be held in Asia, with over 1,300 athletes and 350 officials from 71 countries participating in the games.
