E-mail threat to President Pratibha Patil

Pune, Oct 12: On Sunday, Oct 12 the state authorities in Pune received an email threatening to target President Pratibha Patil during her ongoing trip to the town. The mail sent by some unidentified persons claims that the attackers might come in 'any disguise', the official said.

Security has been beefed up following the threat, the official added. President Patil arrived here on Friday, Oct 10 on a four-day visit to inaugurate the Common Wealth Youth Games here on Sunday, Oct 12 evening. This will be the first Commonwealth Youth Games to be held in Asia. Over 1,300 athletes and 350 officials from 71 countries will participate in the games.
