Wanted criminal killed in encounter

Lucknow, Oct 11 (UNI) Police today shot dead a wanted criminal in an encounter near Bhagmatkhera village here.

Kakori police intercepted a man over suspicion, however, in a bid to escape he fired at them and was killed in retaliatory action near Bhagmatkhera village here in the wee hours, police said.

The slain criminal was identified as Jageshwar Singh alias Fauji, who was wanted for several heinous crimes and also had a reward of Rs 10,000 on his head.
