UGC team to visit Institute of Integrated Himalayan Studies
Shimla, Oct 11 (UNI) A University Grant Commission (UGC) team would visit the Institute of Integrated Himalayan Studies (IIHS) at Himachal Pradesh Univeristy Campus from October 13 to 14 for evaluating and assessment of the activities of the Centre.
The team would be headed by Prof RC Sobti, vice chanceller of Panjab University Chandigarh. Prof V K Jain, School of Environment studies of JNU, Delhi, Prof Duraiswamy of Chennai University, Prof Dnyan Patil of Pune University and AN Sharma, Deputy scretary of UGC are the members of the assessment team.
The IIHS centre, which was established in 2001 for Himalayan studies, has been entrusted the job of social impact assessment of two power project in Kinnaur district by Himachal Pradesh Power corporation, the spokesman said.
