Tribal hacked to death in Kandhmal

Bhubaneswar,Oct 11 (UNI) In a fresh spurt of violence in the strife torn Kandhmal, a sixty year old tribal was hacked to death today.

Police said the tribal identified as Krushna Chandra Pradhan was found lying dead in a turmeric field in Panganaju village under the Raikia police station limit.

The body bore a cut in the neck by a sharp weapon.The police retrieved the body from the field and brought it to Raikia for post mortem.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.Police patrolling has been intensified after the incident.

This would be the first such crime reported in the trouble torn district after almost ten days of incident free even though the night curfew is in force under nine sensitive police limits including the Raikia police station.
