Six ultras nabbed in Manipur
Imphal, Oct 11 (UNI) Altogether six ultras and three arms runners, including a woman militant, were nabbed by Manipur police during the past 24 hours.
SP(Imphal East) Th Radheshyam today said the police commandos arrested three arms runners yesterday, who were identified as H Kolandro, Victor Poumai and Sapam Anand. Arms and ammunition, including one 7.65 pistol, were also recovered, he added.
The SP informed that they used to supply arms from Manipur to other states.
Meanwhile, another team of Imphal East police yesterday apprehended a Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadre, who was identified as Kh Orendro, police said, adding he was involved in extortion of money from the general public and transportation of arms and ammunition.
Furthermore, two rebels of Kangleipak Communist Party were today nabbed by the team during a separate operation, who were identified as M Sharat and M Nungshitombi Devi, the sources informed.
The SP further informed that the woman cadre was involved in extortion of money from officials and public, apart from motivating young boys and girls to join the militant outfit.
