Ramadoss, Ramdev join hand to promote yoga as cure to diseases
New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Removing their earlier ''misunderstandings', Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss and yoga guru Ramdev today joined hands to promote yoga as a cure to diseases like diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, asthma, arthritis and mental stress.
Dr Ramadoss inaugurated a mega 'Yog Science Camp' at Gurgaon organised by Ramadev and even practiced the techniques of ancient Indian spiritual and health therapy together.
Regarding his earlier disputes with Ramdev which included one about use of animal bones in Ayurvedic medicines prepared by his institute, the health minister said the yoga guru has clarified on the basis of scientific validation and clinical control trials and tests and properly communicated and deliberated with him so the misunderstandings are over.
Congratulating Baba Ramdev for propagating yoga and Ayurveda in the world, Dr Ramadoss also thanked him for supporting the health ministry's in campaigns against tobacco and alcohol. He quoted the yoga guru for not yet known facts like one cold drink contains 7 spoonful of sugar while explaining consequences of consumption of cold drinks and fast food like burger, pizza and others.
Highlighting the beneficial effects of yoga in preventing and curing various diseases, Dr Ramadoss said his ministry along with the Human Resource Development Ministry would make yoga compulsory in school curriculum.
Swami Ramdev termed Dr Ramadoss of a staunch supporter of healthy India and said their combined efforts would lead to the country emerging as a major 'Healing Destination' globally. It would also lead to an era of integration of allopathic medicine with traditional system of yoga, ayurveda, siddha, unani and homoeopathy.
