Puducherry to introduce Goondas Act

Puducherry, Oct 11 (UNI) The Puducherry administration would soon introduce the Goondas Act in the Union Territory, Chief Minister V Vaithilingam said here tonight.

Addressing a press conference after the four-hour-long Cabinet meeting, he said the Bill in this regard would be introduced and passed in the Winter session of the territorial Assembly beginning from October 20.

On the issue of Deepavali bonus, the Chief Minister said all employees, including the textile mill workers, would get the same bonus as last year and added that a decision on the disimbursement of the salary to the daily wagers and part-time employees of the territorial administration would be taken soon.

Employees are not getting their salary for the past two months due to financial crunch.
