More than 50 hrs, Sonu still in pit

Agra, Oct 11 (UNI) Hope for life is fading with every passing minute for two-year-old Sonu, who has been caught in a 150-ft-deep borewell for three days.

On Thursday, at around 1000 hrs, Sonu fell into a pit while playing in Shamshabad area here and army was deployed to rescue him.

The minor has not been responding to his mother's calls and has shown no activity since late Thursday.

Brigadier Phulvindar Singh said it would be difficult to say anything about the child as he had stopped showing any signs of activity.

However, battling against all odds the jawans had dug upto 60 foot and work was on at fast pace, he added.

Apprising about the resue work, SSP Raghuvir Lal said joint team of army and administration were putting all efforts to save the minor.

Meanwhile, villagers resorted to heated arguements with the adminsitration quite a few times.
