Badal to launch Rs 3200 project tomorrow from Patiala
Moga, Oct 11 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would launch the ambitious Rs 3200 crore canal irrigation network revamping project by laying foundation stones tomorrow at Patiala Feeder's distributory Kotla Feeder near Dhuri in Sangrur district.
Punjab Irrigation minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon told media persons here today that this new project would cost Rs 123.30 crore and when completed irrigation water capacity will be increased to 30 per cent and additional 68,624 hectare area would be brought under irrigation.
The new distributories and minors constructed under the project would benefit the farmers of Sangrur, Mansa, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala and Patiala districts as about 50 villages of these six district would be benefited, he said.
Sukhbir Singh Badal SAD President, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, MP, Punjab Commerce Minister Manroanjana Kalia would be present on the occasion, according to Irrigation minister.
