Arunachal minister rubbishes BJP's allegations
Itanagar, Oct 11 (UNI) Aruanchal Pradesh Water Resources Development (WRD) Minister Tako Dabi today termed as ''false and concocted'' the allegations of bribing two BJP Lok Sabha MPs from Arunachal Pradesh by the ruling state government.
Mr Dabi, also the government spokesman, said allegations that Chief Minister had assured for issuing Congress tickets to both the BJP MP's in the next Lok Sabha election was ''totally false and baseless''.
In a faxed message, the minister said both the MPs had damaged the image of the country's tribal community in general, and Arunachal Pradesh, in particular, during the last confidence motion moved by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in the floor of Parliament.
'' The allegations levelled against the Congress-ruled state government for bribing and luring the MPs for the coming elections are damaging the ethics of the tribal people. Everybody knows tribal ethics always carry the virtues of truth and honesty. Both the MPs wanted cheap publicity by making such alleagations against the state government,'' Mr Dabi said.
Criticising former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, who visited Pasighat to address BJP's Sankalp Rally today, Mr Dabi said the BJP's rally would not carry any impact to the people of the state.
''The BJP in the Centre and the state must remember that during the past assembly elections, many of the candidates represented BJP as they did not get Congress tickets. Out of them, nine BJP candidates were elected, who had later deserted their party and joined the Congress,'' he informed.
The people of Arunachal Pradesh always stood against the divisive forces and BJP's Hundutva ideology, Mr Dabi added.
