MP: Seven policemen injured in stone pelting
Rajgarh(MP), Oct 11: Seven police personnel were wounded in stone throwing when they intervened in a dispute while taking out Durga idol immersion procession at Pachore town in this district on Friday, Oct 10 night, police said on Saturday, Oct 11. The dispute arose over blaring out music in a high pitch by the processionists and the irate mob resorted to stone pelting, injuring seven policemen including officer-in-charge of Pachore police station Sitaram Yadav.
About a dozen people in the procession were also injured in the incident.
Additional police force had also been deployed in the area following the incident , police added.
Superintendent of Police D K Arya said sixteen people were rounded up last night after registering cases of stone-throwing, causing hindrance in government work and violating the sound pollution act.
