War like stores and ration recovered from hideout in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 10 (UNI) Security forces busted a hideout and recovered a warlike store in the frontier district of Kupwara, a police spokesman said today.

He said troops of 8 Raj Rifle and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police conducted a joint operation at Nar Bahak in Bungus valley following a tip-off about a militant hideout.

During a long search of the area, troops finally smashed the hideout and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition besides ration.

The recovery included three AK 47 rifles, six AK magazines, 172 rounds of AK ammunition, two Chinese pistols, four pistol magazines, two wireless sets, six Chinese grenades (destroyed on spot), 40 Kgs of rice, 50 Kgs of Atta, Mustard oil, six blankets and three polythene sheets.

The hide out was later destroyed by the operational party.

However, no one was arrested as militants had managed to escape before the search party smashed the hideout.
