Two students held with fake currency, scanner

Lucknow, Oct 10 (UNI) Two students persuing professional courses here were arrested today with counterfeit notes and scanning machine.

Police arrested BBA student Rahul and Software engineer Jitendra from Charbagh area here and seized fake currency amounting to Rs 1,300 and unfinished counterfeits notes of nearly Rs one lakh and a scanner machine from their possession.

Rahul is a resident of Delhi, whereas Jitendra belongs to Lakhimpur Kheri district of UP.

According to police, the duo were discussing about the fake currency at a betal shop when the shop owner eavesdropped them and informed the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The GRP then swung into action and nabbed the duo. Later, they recovered scanning machine and other equipments from them.

Both had been booked under section 489 A, B , C and D of the IPC under which they could be sentenced for life, sources added.
