ISKCON announces scholarships for students
Bangalore, Oct 10: After a successful mid-day meals scheme for poor students, ISKCON has now announced scholarships, 'ISKCON Vidyarthivetana Nidhi', for poor students. Free education has been planned for children of police constables, auto drivers, railways and lower strata of people through 'ISKCON Vidyarthivetana Nidhi'.
Real Estate developer, Srinivasalu Reddy has agreed to donate Rs 10 lakhs for the programme and has also to reach a goal of increase the amount to Rs 1 crore. "Every year we collect funds and use it for a noble cause," said, ISKCON President, Madhu Pandit Das. ISKCON has urged donors to donate for such a noble cause. Considering the students' academic and family income, scholarship scheme has been introduced. Class 10 and PUC students can apply for the scholarship.
