Infosys posts 32% growth in Q2 revenues

Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) India's second biggest IT major Infosys Technologies Ltd today announced a 32 per cent jump in its revenues year-on-year at Rs 5,418 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

However in dollar terms the revenues grew by 5.3 per cent sequentially and 7.1 per cent in constant currency.

The net profit after tax rose to Rs 1,432 crore for the quarter, an year-on-year growth of 30.2 per cent while earnings per share rose to Rs 25.02 from Rs 19.26 in the corresponding quarter last year.

Chief Operating Officer S D Shibulal said despite adverse market conditions, the company's pricing remained stable during the quarter.

In a conservative target amid global economic upheavals,Infosys had set a revenue guidance of between Rs 5,519 crore and Rs 5,730 crore for the third quarter ending December 31.
