Bihar: Four family members drown in a mishap

Saharsa, Oct 10: Altogether four persons of a family, including a woman, drowned when a boat ferrying six people capsized midstream in Parsadhar river near Harahari village of Banwanithari block. Subdivisional officer of Simribakhtiyarpur Radheshyam Sah here today said the boat got trapped in the high current of the river water and capsized on Thursday, Oct 9.

Two children were saved from drowning. The bodies of the four victims were still missing. Divers had been pressed into service to trace the bodies.

The ill-fated boat was returning from Salkhua village, Mr Sah added.
