Core committee constituted for Smart City Project

Kochi, Oct 10 (UNI) A core committee has been constituted under Ernakulam District Collector Dr M Beena to sort out pending issues regarding land for the Rs 1,500 crore Smart City Project here.

After a meeting held here today under the auspices of Smart City, Kochi Chairman and Kerala Fisheries Minister S Sarma said it was decided that the committee would look into issues relating to relocation of building and materials of the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) and a Public Works Department (PWD) road, which were located on the land earmarked for the project.

He said the committee would have representatives of KSEB, PWD and Smart City. It would submit its report by October 18.

He said the Smart City Director's Board meeting would be held on Monday and the London-based master planners for the project, Colin Buchanan, would visit the site the next day.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister's Special Secretary M P Sukumaran Nair, IT Secretary Ajayakumar, Expenditure Secretary T K Manj Kumar, PWD Additional Secretary Chandrika Devi, KSEB Chief Engineer K S Pradeep Kumar and Smart City Business Development Manager Mithun Beeru.
