31.3 lakh tonne paddy procured in present Kharif season

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) Government agencies today claimed to have procured 31.3 lakh tonne paddy in this Kharif season so far, reports from procurement agencies in different states said.

According to an official release issued here today, Punjab had contributed 23.27 lakh tonne and Haryana gave eight lakh tonne.

Other states where procurement had just begun included Delhi, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

The total procured paddy comprises 20.97 tonnes of rice as its part.
