SR Division earnings up

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 9 (UNI) Southern Railways, Thiruvananthapuram Division, has achieved an overall earning of Rs 355.87 crore in the last six months.

In the same period last year, the Division had earned Rs 280.82 crore as revenue, a release said here today.

Passenger revenue rose 22 per cent while freight earnings increased by 47 per cent over the same period last year.

The Division also got Rs 146.57 lakh from ticket checking and it was the only Division in Southern Railways, which exceeded overall earnings' target set by the Railway Board.
