PAC deployed to find missing people from Gomti

Sultanpur, Oct 9: PAC jawans have been pressed into service to find six people, who were washed away in strong water currents of river Gomti after a boat ferrying 13 people capsized near Sabsukhghat here last evening.

According to official sources, an overloaded boat en route from Sabsukhghat of Lubhua area to Mutiyapur lost balance and flipped over after travelling short distance yesterday.

At least 13 people, including three women were aboard the boat, of which seven swam out safely, whereas six were still missing.

Local divers were searching for the missing since yesterday, however PAC was deployed today for the search operation.

It was alleged that the incident occurred as the boat was carrying people more than it's capacity. Boatman Hutu and contractor Achelal were at large, the sources added.
