Minor slips into 150-ft-deep pit; Army deployed for rescue
Agra, Oct 9 (UNI) Army has been pressed into service to save a two-and-a-half-year-old boy, who slipped into a 150-foot-deep borewell in the Shamshabad area here today.
According to official sources, the incident occurred at around 10.00 hrs at Leharpur village when Sonu accidently slipped into an open borewell while playing.
Army jawans were digging two parallel pits to save Sonu, Meanwhile, the child was being provided oxygen through pipe.
District Magistrate Anil Kumar has reached the spot and gave necessary directions for the rescue work.
Reports said so far the child was safe and his cries could be easily heard.
