Jaya sacks a district secretary after bye election defeat

Chennai, Oct 9 (UNI) The AIADMK today sacked party Perambalur district secretary A Ilavarasan and appointed his deputy in his place.

Party supremo J Jayalalithaa, in a statement here, said that Mr Ilavarasan was being relieved from all posts.

She appointed Mr P Ilavazhagan, Deputy secretary as the new district secretary and called upon partymen to extend their cooperation to him.

The sacking of Mr Ilavarasan comes close on the heels of party's defeat in the bye-election to the local body in the district.
