Four HM activists held for attack on places of worship in TN
Erode, Oct 9 (UNI) Four Hindu Munnani(HM) activists, including town secretary Nagaraj, were today arrested in connection with the recent attacks on two places of worship in this district of Tamil Nadu.
A special team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) arrested the four, who included Hindu Munnani town treasurer Sivasakthi and two other activists Marudachalam alias Marudu and Raja, police said.
They were produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody, it added.
Attacks on two places of worship were reported at Erode on October seven. In one such incident, three people on a motorcycle threw stones at a place of worship at Perunthalaiyur, on the Kavindapady-Koohalur Road, police said.
A glass box encasing the holy book was damaged at the place of worship of South India (CSI) in the same area, in another incident, it informed.
