Small and Medium grade sugar steady

Navi Mumbai, Oct 8 (UNI) The prices of small and medium grade sugar remained steady today on scattered buying by stockists, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.

However, in ex-mill grade, both small and medium grade sugar hiked by Rs five and Rs 20 per quintal respectively, following sustained demand from bulk consumers, traders added.

Following were the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,761/1,805, medium grade: Rs 1,800/1,900, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,740/1,760 and medium grade: Rs 1,780/1,800.
