Rupani praises Modi for bringing Nano to Gujarat
Rajkot, Oct 8 (UNI) Rajya Sabha Member Vijay Rupani today appreciated Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for bringing the Tata Motors Nano car project to the state.
Speaking to UNI, Mr Rupani said Gujarat's economy would boost up, following the MoU signed for the Nano car Project, to be set up near Sanand in Gujarat, after its relocation from Singur in West Bengal.
The small car already has a connection with Rajkot, as a component of the car is being manufactured in the city by three manufacturing units.
Nano's setting up in the state will provide a boost to many engineering units here, engaged in casting, forging, bearing and manufacturing of auto components, Mr Rupani said.
Nearly 15,000 direct employment oppurtunities would be generate through this project, he said, adding that there would also be abundant indirect benefits.
The land for the project would be sold to Tata Motors at the market price, Mr Rupani said.
