TN: ITIs to provide primary-level skill training
Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu, Oct 8: Primary level skill training will be provided through the Government Industrial Training Institutes in Ariyalur and Andimadam for those with a pass in Class V and VIII, without any age limit, District Collector R Sudalaikannan said.
He said on Tuesday, Oct 8 the training under the aegis of the Union Government's Skill Development Initiative would be imparted for durations varying between 60 hours and 420 hours depending on the vocation.
After training, the candidates will be evaluated by government-approved agencies,he added.
Those who pass will receive a National Certificate in Vocational Training and be entitled to reimbursement of the fee paid towards training and examination.
Admissions will be based on the communal reservation system and special concessions will be provided for Adi Dravidar and Scheduled Tribe candidates.
