Gypsies given training in pig rearing

Puducherry,Oct 8(UNI)For the first time in the union territory,the administration along with a voluntary organisation gave training to gypsies ('Narikkuravar') in pig rearing to ensure permanent revenue for them.

According to official sources, the District and Rural Development Agency here in association with INDP had constructed a shed for pigs at the Narikkuravar Colony at Lawspet to keep the animals in a hygenic condition which would help in supply of good quality pork.

This in turn would ensure a permanent revenue to the Narikkuravars.
