Gold opens up at Rs 13,745 on Oct 8
Mumbai, Oct 8: Gold on Wednesday, Oct 8 opened higher at Rs 13,745, surging by Rs 275 per ten gm from its Tuesday, Oct 7's close, following sustained demand from jewellery makers along with positive global advices, traders in the Bombay Bullion Association said. Even silver rose by Rs 255 per kg to open at Rs 19,940.
In the international market too, gold was quoted at USD 882.00/883.50 per ounce (USD 878.00/879.50), while silver was at USD 11.75/11.76 an ounce (USD 11.57/11.58), Singapore market report said. Following were the opening domestic spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 19,940 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 13,745 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 13,810.
