Fire destroys 52 huts

Puducherry,Oct 8(UNI)As many as 52 huts were gutted in a fire that broke out at Thiruvalluvar Nagar here this afternoon.

Fire tenders from Puducherry Town and Gorimedu put out the flames. Sparks from an unattended oven is suspected to have caused the inferno, Fire Service sources said.The loss is yet to be estimated.

District Collector Thevaneethidas and MLA R Siva supervised the relief works being undertaken.
