Check Bajrang Dal activities, says Arjun
Bhopal, Oct 8(UNI) Advocating a check on the activities of Bajrang Dal, senior Congress leader and Union Minister for Human Resources Development Arjun Singh today said it was upto the government to decide how to control such Hindu outfits.
''The Bajrang Dal's activities should be checked'', he told reporters here when asked about the Hindu outfit's alleged role in fanning communal flare up in Orissa and other places.
''There is no comparison between Bajrang Dal and Students Islamic Movement of India'', he said, adding SIMI was being bullied and browbeaten.
Mr Singh denied about intense factionalism in the Congress ahead of the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh saying there was no dispute as such but it was a competition for more participation.
Mr Singh, who was here on a brief visit to lay the foundation stones of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) and School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), said there were many claimants for party tickets, but there was no problem. MPCC chief Suresh Pachouri was aware of all aspects and was working effectively. Asked about the party's chief ministerial nominee, he said it would be decided by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
