Basic computer education programme started for slum children
Rajkot, Oct 8 (UNI) With the aim to provide free basic computer education to 216 slum children, Shri Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust (SPRMT) today launched a 'Paramdip Project' (computer project on wheel), here.
Talking to UNI, Member of Rajya Sabha Vijay Rupani said under this project, they would conduct six batches of computer class in a mobile van (education on wheel) in 36 slums of the city.
The class will be conducted in two shifts, three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening, to impart training to the slum children. Certificate would be provided to qualified students at the end of the course.
The mobile van is equipped with three laptop computers. Two students will learn basic computer skills on each laptop.
After the sad demise of Master Pujit, 12 years ago, Vijaybhai Rupani and his wife Anjaliben formed 'Shri Pujit Rupani Memorial Trust' to shape the future of the deprived children of the city.
