Punjab Cong for free travel for 'Gurtagaddi Divas'
Amritsar, Oct 7 (UNI) Punjab Congress leaders have urged the Union Government to provide the facility of free travel to the pilgrims going to Hazoor Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra, for the 'Gurtagaddi Divas' celebrations.
In a memorandum submitted to Union Torism Minister Ambika Soni here today, the leaders said this facility should be provided to devotees travelling in special trains to be run by the Railways for the celebrations. This facility from the scheduled stations to be identified by the Railways should be made avaliable from October 25 to November seven.
The memorandum was signed by former Congress MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) member Bhupinder Singh Randhawa. Ms Soni assured that Congress leaders that she would take up their demand at the appropriate level.
