Minister demands inquiry by Lokayukt against him

Bhopal, Oct 7 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Akhand Pratap Singh today urged the Lokayukt to start an inquiry into complaints levelled against him by Congress spokesperson K K Mishra so that the matter could be resolved at the earliest.

In a letter -- addressed to Lokayukt Justice Ripusudn Dayal -- submitted to the Lokayukt office, Mr Singh said he was ready to extend all cooperation in this regard.

He sent a copy of the letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and demanded earlier inquiry.

Later, he told reporters that he met the Deputy Loakyukt as Justice Dayal was not present and urged him for an inquiry into the alleged wheat production scam related to his department.

Suspecting the involvement of the then department secretary K P Singh and other officials in the scam, he said Lokayukt inquiry would make everything clear.

Mr Mishra had recently complained about alleged irregularities against the minister.
