Kerala govt approves recommendations of Panicker committee
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 7 (UNI) Kerala Education Minister M A Baby today said the Government has approved the recommendations of K N Panicker committee on text book reforms in the state.
Talking to newspersons after accepting the committee's report, Mr Baby said steps would be taken to implement three of the eleven recommendations of the committee with top priority.
He said the recommendation for a text book commission to monitor preparation of text books would be implemented soon.
He said a separate committee would be appointed to evaluate each stage of text book preparation and steps would be taken to make available its details through web sites.
The Panicker Committee was appointed by the state government to go into the controversy related to the standard VII Social Science textbook.
