GJM calls for signboard text replacement drive in hills
Siliguri, Oct 7 (UNI) Gorkha Janamukti Morcha(GJM) today called for a drive from October 17 involving the replacement of the texts in the signboards reading ''Government of West Bengal'' with ''Government of Gorkhaland'' in the hills.
Informing this, GJM president Bimal Gurung said at least 500 Gorkhaland Police Personnel would be pressed into action for carrying out the replacement in the state govrnment units within the purview of the proposed Gorkhaland, comprising Kurshiong, Kalimpong, Darjeeling as well as Siliguri and Dooars subdivision.
The decision was taken today in the GJM's central committee meeting, Mr Goorong said, adding the state government bungalows, sub-divisional office and Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council office would also be covered in the drive.
The GJM also observed its foundation day at various parts of the hill and feliciated old citizens and litterateur on the occasion.
