40 injured as roof of school building collapses in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Oct 7 (UNI) At least 40 labourers, including ten women were injured, 15 of them seriously, when the roof of a private school collapsed during construction here today.

Police informed the injured were admitted to the capital hospital, adding the roof of the Mother Public School in Unit I area locality collapsed while work was going on.

However, a major tragedy was averted as the school was closed on account of Durga Puja, police said, adding the contractor was absconding and efforts were on to nab him.
