Two dalit women on fast unto death, seeking justice

Kakinada, Oct 6 (UNI) Two dalit women, along with East Godavari district SC, ST Welfare Association Secretary Anthony, today commenced a fast-unto-death stir in front of the Collectorate here, demanding justice in a land dispute in Rajanagaram village.

Before launching the stir, the women called on the Collector and presented a memorandum seeking restoration of the 6.5 cents of their land that was allegedly occupied by their neighbour by producing fake documents.

They claimed that all their representations to the Tahsildar and the RDO for the past one year failed to render justice to them due to the officials' apathy.

They told the Collector that they would not be satisfied with mere assurance but wanted prompt action against the revenue authorities and vowed to continue their stir till their last breath.
