Lucknow, Oct 6 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh police have made elaborate security arrangements at the 'special pandals' set up on the occasion of Durga Puja across the state.
According to official sources, 47 companies Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and eight companies Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been garrisoned across the state for maintenance of security.
Besides, bomb disposals and anti-terrorist squads have been deployed in civvies.
A large number of Close Cirucit Television (CCTv) cameras would also act as a thrid eye to foil any terrorist' bid.
UP Director General of Police (DGP) Vikram Singh had yesterday visitied the Kalibari temple and various pandals at the state capital to take stock of the situation.
Later, the senior officer had asked the officers to a keep a close watch on the security of the pandals in view of the proliferating terror attacks in the country.
The UP police has pulled up its socks for the impending Dussehra as well as ongoing Navratra festival.
