Congress not to project Prime Ministerial or CM candidates
Jaipur, Oct 6 (UNI) The Congress today termed as 'undemocratic' the practice of pre-poll projection of Prime Ministerial or Chief Minister candidates and said it would not project anybody as the next Prime Minister of Chief Ministerial candidates in the states where Assembly polls are due later this year.
Talking to mediapersons here today former Karnataka Chief Minister and party Media Cell national convener Veerappa Moily said, ''Congress has convention of electing them through unanimity or consensus among elected MPs or MLAs and we will abide by the practice.'' He said projecting the PM or CM, prior to the elections, was totally undemocratic.
On the BJP's move of projecting its Prime Ministerial and Chief Ministerial candidates in states, Mr Moily said Congress was not any party's follower.
"We are front running political party and we are not required to follow BJP or any other rather they do follow us," the Congress leader said.
