Puducherry: AICCTU demand proper implementation

Puducherry, Oct 6: Taking strong exception to alleged tardy implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in Puducherry and Karaikal regions of the union territory, the All India Central Council for Trade Unions (AICCTU) urged the administration to take immediate steps to improve it.

In a resolution adopted at the executive committee meeting of AICCTU, it urged the administration to lift the lay off in Texpro, the cooperative institutions and provide salary to the workers during the lay off period.

Thirtyfive percent bonus without ceiling to handloom weavers, Rs 2,000 as Deepavali bonus for unorganised sector labourers and construction workers were among the resolutions adopted.
