TN: 2 die in accidents on National Highway
Tiruchirapalli, Oct 5: Two people, including a 17-year-old girl, were killed and six injured seriously in separate road accidents in the district.
Police said the driver was killed on-the-spot and six were seriously injured when their car collided with a truck at Varadharajapuram on the Tiruchirapalli-Salem highway near here yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Suresh (28). The injured, including five women, were admitted to a hospital at Namakkal, police said.
In the other accident, a teenaged girl was run over by a State Transport Corporation bus at Kattur on the Tiruchirapalli-Thanjavur National Highway near here.
Chithra Devi (17) was returning home from school when the accident occurred yesterday, police said.
