Tiger attacks cow in Srimagangala
Madikeri, Oct 5: Much to the shock of the residents here, a cow was killed in its shed and another injured grievously by a tiger at Srimagangala in South Kodagu on Saturday, Oct 4.
The tiger jumped the wall and entered the shed and killed the cow, injured another and jumped back.
The house wife, who came to draw milk in the morning noticed the incident.
A heart rending scene awaited the onlookers today as its calf was wailing all round its dead mother.
It was struggling to draw milk from its mother who was lying dead. The onlookers who shed tears looking at the painful scene shouted at the forest officials who arrived at the spot to capture the tiger.
Range Forest officer Poovaiah and staff went to the spot and expressed their helplessness.
They said that the permission to capture the tiger has lapsed and they have to seek permission again.
